Meet Carl, Your Trusted Bodyworker
Carl Kern, Osteopath & Massage Therapist in Montreal
Supporting balance, embodiment, and self-healing through integrative care.
Carl Kern is a classically trained osteopath, craniosacral therapist, and massage therapist based in Montreal, offering treatments at Somavive’s Mile End studio and Westmount clinic. He is passionate about helping people reconnect with their bodies and find lasting relief from pain.
His own healing journey began in his twenties, while seeking solutions for chronic migraines and TMJ pain. Through massage therapy, he rediscovered the power of embodiment, and osteopathy and craniosacral therapy revealed the deep interconnectedness and rhythms within the body — a lesson that continues to guide his approach today. This experience inspired Carl to dedicate his career to supporting others on their path toward health and balance.
Approach & Philosophy
Carl practices classical osteopathy, beginning with a thorough assessment to identify the root cause of restrictions — whether in the spine, joints, fascia, organs, or cranium. By addressing these blockages at their source, his treatments help the body restore its natural rhythm, alignment, and self-healing capacity.
He has supported patients with a wide range of conditions, including postural imbalances, chronic pain, digestive and neurological issues, pelvic floor dysfunction, and acute injuries such as concussions, sprains, and strains. Carl’s philosophy is simple: create space in the body and mind, and trust the wisdom of nature to complete the healing process.
“For me, osteopathy is about radical trust. We’re often taught to see our bodies as obstacles that break down or hold us back, and to see nature as something to be controlled. But I believe the body, as nature, holds deep wisdom. Health and illness, growth and change, life and loss — all are part of nature’s cycles, not problems to fix but processes to understand. Osteopathy helps us return to this truth: that the body already knows how to heal. My role is to listen, support, and help you rediscover that trust.”
Carl offers both osteopathic care and therapeutic massage in a compassionate, integrative environment that encourages balance and self-awareness.
